2025 Application Round for Fellows in Oxford Biological Physics

2025 Application Round for Fellows in Oxford Biological Physics

Inviting applications for Fellows to start an independent research group at Oxford Biological Physics.

Oxford Biological Physics seeks to understand biological function from a quantitative and physical perspective. We currently host groups working on molecular machines active in DNA metabolism and bacterial propulsion; on ion channels; on neuronal computation; and on DNA nanotechnology:

We welcome all outstanding applications in the field of biophysics or closely related fields.

Successful applicants will establish their independent group in this exciting and supportive environment which is housed in the new Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin building and forms part of the interdisciplinary Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. They will be provided with high-quality lab space and technical support in establishing their laboratories and have full access to the support services of the Departments of Physics and Biochemistry. Successful applicants will also be fully supported during the application process for fellowships from UK or international funding schemes (e.g. CRUK Career Development Fellowship, Royal Society University Research Fellowship, Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship, UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, Wellcome Trust Career Development Award, Medical Research Council Career Development Award, and European Research Council Starting Grant) and are expected to successfully obtain such funding prior to arrival.

Application process:

Submit an application consisting of a full academic CV, research proposal, a description of how the research fits in the local environment, and the names and contact information of three references to biophys.fellows.application@maillist.ox.ac.uk. Interviews will be held in mid-March 2025.

Application deadline: 15 February 2025
