Kavli INsD Director Receives Honorary Doctorate from the University of Cambridge

On June 19, 2024, Professor Dame Carol Robinson, Director of the Kavli Oxford, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Cambridge. The university conferred honorary degrees to seven distinguished individuals in recognition of their achievements in their respective fields, including Professor Robinson.

Professor Robinson completed her PhD at Churchill College, Cambridge, in the early 1980s under the supervision of Professor Dudley Williams. She later returned to Cambridge as the department’s first female Professor of Chemistry, holding the post from 2001 to 2009, and was awarded a Royal Society Research Professorship in 2006.

In 2009, Professor Robinson moved to the University of Oxford, where she is the Dr Lee’s Professor of Chemistry and the Director of the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. She is also an alumna and an Honorary Fellow of Churchill College.
